Are your social platforms in limbo? Do you need some ideas to get them jump started? Review the seven C’s of successful social marketing and implement them on every occasion.

If you notice the “C’s” of Social Success list below, you will see that it doesn’t include: CRAM (your products down our throats) CRUD (sharing content that is visually poor and tastefully inappropriate) CONCEITED (all about you and/or your product/company).

So now is a great time to change things up and move your marketing to the next level. Use the suggestions below like a checklist. Consider them all.

COMMUNICATION – Social sites are for having conversations. Remember, you must talk with your followers and fans. Do not just talk AT them.

CAPTIVATING – Is the content and information you are sharing interesting, entertaining or informative? Is it something your customers or clients want to share? Just monitor your Re-tweets, mentions and shares to see how you are managing in this area.

CONTENT – Are you following the social media best practice of 80% to 20%? What this means is that eighty percent of your social posts should NOT be product related.

CONSISTENT – You should be active on your social platforms daily. Remember your competition will!

COMPLIMENTARY – Give credit by mentioning them when you share peoples content. If you see a post or blog you like let them know it was a great share or great post.

CREDIBLE – Is your online identity credible? Do you answer questions and respond to your followers in a timely manner? Always ensure that you have your social site notifications are turned on, and respond to comments and questions ASAP.

COURTEOUS – Be on your best behaviour on your social sites. Use your manners whenever the opportunity arises. Thank fans and followers for sharing your content. Thank them for the likes, retweets, plus ones and even for following.

If you aren’t using any of the 7 C’s on your social platforms, then it is time to rethink your online marketing strategy. If you don’t have what it takes to be social, then it may be better you deleted that account. An old, seldom used social platform says to possible customers/clients….”this business is closed” or “this professional gives up”.

It’s not too late to start. Don’t wait much longer though because social marketing is not going away!
